Cambodia Casinos

There is a fascinating background to the Cambodia casinos that reside just across the dividing line from nearby Thailand, in which gambling hall gambling is prohibited. Eight casinos are situated in a relatively tiny location in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling halls is in a perfect location, a three to four hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 largest gambling locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The astonishing capital acquired from the gambling halls ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over 12.5 million, and there are a number of controls constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is required to be mostly Thai; still, investment sources are cryptic. The borders are ceremoniously open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and even though visas are supposedly needed to cross, there are means around this, as is true of most border crossings.
The 1st Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving only a single casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked barge gambling den, highlights 150 slot machines and sixty tables. The Naga gambling hall is open 24 hours with forty two tables of mini-baccarat banque, 4 tables of twenty-one, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The first casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown quickly opened. A total of one hundred and fifty slot machine games and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machines and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 slots and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slots and ninety six gaming tables, including 87 punto banco (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 one armed bandits and 66 of the normal gaming tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, also a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a comprehensive vacation and hotel complex that contains numerous luxuries on top of the gambling hall, which houses ten thousand square feet of 130 slots and 88 gaming tables.
